Mission:

Good Samaritan Services gives immediate help to people who are experiencing homelessness, and helps those at risk of becoming homeless, by restoring their lives to stability. We engage the community to support these efforts.

Our Christian faith is central to all we do at GSS. We draw on compassion to respond to the needs of individuals and families in crisis with generosity. To make a lasting impact we work in partnership with individuals and community groups; exercise thoughtful stewardship over the resources we have been given, and express gratitude for all the help we receive and share.

History:

Good Sam began as a single men's shelter in Phoenixville in 1999. Since then, we have grown immensely and now have locations in Phoenixville, Coatesville, Lancaster and Ephrata. We serve up to 200 men, women and children who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness each day.

At Good Sam, we provide a full spectrum of services to those who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness including emergency shelters, residential housing and housing support services. We also offer many financial stability and personal development resources that holistically and effectively address the needs of participants who are enrolled at Good Sam. Our overall goal is to help those we serve move from crisis to stability.
