Who We Are
Our mission is to bring awareness to this beautiful, yet hidden park within the City of Lancaster, so that all may enjoy and to assist the City of Lancaster in maintaining and enhancing this city park as a destination for residents and visitors. My name is Lisa Colon, a local city resident, and I enjoyed years of bringing my children here. The park offers a beautifully landscaped flower garden, called the Betty Finney AIDS garden. The garden was dedicated to those who have passed away from HIV/AIDS within our county. The park also has two playground equipment sites, a basketball court, numerous benches to sit and relax and a bike trail. My family started cleaning up the Park on our own several years ago and have continued annually with the United Way Day of Caring volunteer opportunity as well. Mayor Gray was approached about the continued desire of area residents and businesses, to work and volunteer at the park and Friends of Northwest Corridor Linear Park was born. The name of the park has since been changed to reflect the name of the active mayor during the time the park was created. We have several opportunities to volunteer at the park on United Way's Day of Caring. Friends of Mayor Janice P Stork Corridor Park look forward to working with you on this day!
What We Do
This group was unofficially created at the bequest of residents and area businesses. It offers many amenities for the residents such as a safe area for bicycling, a basketball court, swings and two playground sets. Many benches align the walkways through the park allowing residents a relaxing area to sit and read or watch as their children play. The park also is home to the Betty Finney AIDS Memorial Garden. This garden was created to memorialize those residents of Lancaster City who have passed away due to HIV/Aids. All of our volunteers are very appreciated by Friends of Mayor Janice P Stork Corridor Park and we look forward to joining them every year. We are in the beginning phases of officially finalizing our group and creating an even better Park visitor experience. Thank you for visiting us!
