Description
Volunteers may be asked to assist with bussing tables, serving food on the line, simple food preparation (i.e. cutting fruit and vegetables, etc.), cleaning, or may be asked to assist with other kitchen tasks, depending on where help is needed most that day.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Due to staff schedules, we ask that you please not come early to your shift. We appreciate your desire to come prepared, but our staff members may not be able to give you task directions or answer questions if you arrive earlier than the scheduled shift time.

the minimum age to serve on campus is 13.Youth ages 13-15 must serve with a parent and a parent must sign and submit and Minor Liability Waiver.Youth ages 16-17 must serve with a responsible adult (does not have to be a parent) and a parent must sign and submit a Minor Liability Waiver.
What to Wear
Thank you for helping us keep a safe work environment by following the Water Street Mission Dress Code:

Please wear closed-toed shoes (sneakers are great!). For safety purposes, flip flops, sandals and high heels are not permitted.Please wear a shirt that covers your shoulders. Thank you for not wearing tank tops or tops with spaghetti straps.Please do not wear clothing that references alcohol, drugs, smoking, or profanity.Please do not wear shorts, short skirts, or leggings when you come to serve. Pants, cropped pants, or long skirts (below the knee) are great!

In compliance with food service standards, volunteers will be asked to wear a hair net (and beard net, if applicable to the guys). Those (and aprons) are provided by Water Street. Volunteers may bring hats to wear over hair nets, if desired.
Cell Phones & Headphones
For safety purposes, please refrain from using cell phones or wearing headphones while volunteering.

Volunteer: Outreach Food Pantry

Description

Most Outreach Ministry volunteers will be stationed behind our food line with the task of greeting shoppers and sharing how many items they may take that day. They are to kindly encourage the forward movement of the line.

Volunteers may also be asked to help keep Outreach Ministries stocked, clean and organized during the food distribution.

Individuals best suited for this position are friendly to everyone, outgoing, able to diffuse conflict that arises in waiting line, and not afraid of confrontation.

Please avoid parking in front of our Outreach Ministries building (the side facing Conestoga Street). Those are reserved for those coming to receive groceries from Outreach.
