We are pleased to invite men throughout the Lancaster community (and beyond) to come together in support of the Crispus Attucks Community Center on Sunday, June 10, 2018 as part of the 11th annual MEN WHO COOK Celebration: In the Spirit of Juneteenth. This event brings the community together over a meal, music and a short history program. It will take place from 1:30PM to 4:00PM on Sunday, June 10th at the Thaddeus Stevens College MAC Building. We are seeking men who will bring a precooked dish (Costco/BJ sized sample servings for about 200 people) to share with the community. We are also asking that you bring your own "cheering section" by selling five tickets to the event. Tickets will go on sale in April ($20 in advance).
(Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the U.S. when the last of enslaved people learned that they were free in 1865 in Galveston, Texas).
