On November 18 the Lancaster Public Library will participate in the ExtraOrdinary Give, Lancaster County’s largest one-day giving event, and a HUGE fund generator for LPL. We have a great day of events planned but we need your help to make them a success.
Our unofficial mascot, Dewey the Penguin, will come to life on Friday, November 18 to hold some ExtraSpecial story times, attend a party, and make a few visits around town to bring extra awareness to the Lancaster Public Library in hopes of increasing our donations during the ExtraGive. We are looking for volunteers to wear the Dewey costume, a photo of which is attached.
The schedule of visits is below. Please let us know if you can help by taking one of Dewey’s shifts.
8 - 9 AM – Visit a downtown location
10 – 11 AM – ExtraSpecial Storytime at Mountville Branch Library
12 – 1 PM – Visit Central Market in Lancaster
4 – 5 PM – ExtraSpecial Storytime at LPL
6 – 7:30 PM – Storytime, photos, and fun at the Movers & Shapers Soiree at the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman (broken into 2 shifts)
9 – 10 PM – Visit the Convention Center, the hub of the ExtraGive action!
