MORE LOVE LETTERS PROJECT
Hosted by the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Lancaster County
NOVEMBER 21, 2019 FROM 12-1 PM
COMMUNITY SERVICES BUILDING
640 JANET AVENUE, BLAIR ROOM

Bring friends, a student group, or just your faith in the power of a handwritten letter to brighten someone's day. We invite you to write letters to strangers who need words to help them through loneliness or depression.

Come bring more love into the world—and rediscover how powerful giving handwritten notes, in today's digital era, can be.

Based on a book by Hannah Brencher—founder of The World Needs More Love Letters—who has dedicated her life to showing total strangers that they are not alone in the world. Feeling lonely herself early in life, Hannah did something strange—she wrote a woman in the subway, who looked lonely and depressed, a letter.

She folded it, scribbled “If you find this letter, it’s for you…” on the front and left it behind for her.

When she realized that it made her feel better, she started writing and leaving love notes all over the city—in doctor’s offices, in coat pockets, in library books, in bathroom stalls. Feeling crushed within a culture that only felt like connecting on a screen, she poured her heart out to complete strangers. She found solace in the idea that her words might brighten someone’s day.

FREE. DROP IN. NO REGISTRATION. BRING A LUNCH. VERY APPROPRIATE FOR ADULTS AND STUDENTS.
