Holiday Food Basket Phone Registration Volunteers
Project Overview
The Lancaster County Project for the Needy is dedicated to ensuring
families across our community receive holiday food baskets this season. We’re
looking for caring, detail-oriented volunteers to help us sign up eligible
community members and spread some holiday cheer!
Volunteer Role
Answer incoming
calls from community members and register them for holiday food baskets.

Use software systems such as Vision Link (plus additional
software, if applicable).

This opportunity can be on-site
- Location: United Way Main Office, 1910 Harrington Drive, Lancaster (must be able to use stairs) or remote.
Skills Needed
- Strong phone communication and customer service skills
- Data entry and attention to detail
- Compassion, patience, and reliability
Training Commitment
In-Person Training (1)
- Duration: 1 day (3 hours)
- Dates: Tuesday, November 18, 2025
- Times: 10:00 am-1:00 pm
- Location: United Way Main Office, 1910 Harrington Drive, Lancaster
In-Person Training (2)
- Duration: 1 day (3 hours)
- Dates: Thursday, November 20, 2025
- Times: 1:00 pm-4:00pm
- Location: United Way Main Office, 1910 Harrington Drive, Lancaster
Online Training
- Duration: Self-paced (1–2 hours)
Shift Commitment
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 1–2 shifts (each lasting 2–3 hours).
Shifts Available:
- Morning: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Midday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
(We can also adjust to 2-hour shifts if needed for flexibility.)
Dates
Project Runs:
Monday, November 24 – Friday, December 12, 2025
Excludes: November 27 & 28 in
observance of Thanksgiving
Hardware Policy (for remote volunteers)
- United
Way of Lancaster County will provide laptops and headsets.
- Equipment must be returned by Friday,
December 19, 2025.
