Join Christ’s Home during United Way’s Week of Caring to support a meaningful and hands-on garden transformation project. As part of our mission to care for children and seniors with compassion and dignity, we’re taking steps to make our garden space more manageable and effective for the people we serve. Your time and energy will directly support this effort.

Project Overview
Volunteers will assist with downsizing our current garden space. This includes:

Carefully removing sections of fencing

Repositioning raised beds

Reducing the overall footprint of the garden to improve long-term maintenance

By downsizing, we’ll be able to maintain the space more effectively and make better use of our resources—all while continuing to provide beauty and functionality for our residents and staff.

Start Time: 10:00 AM

Estimated Duration: 2–3 hours

Dates Available:

Wednesday, September 10, 2025

Volunteers Needed: 2–4 (minimum) to 5–8 (maximum)

Minimum Age: 16 (Minors must be accompanied by an adult)

Wheelchair Accessible: No

Check-In Process: Volunteers will meet the project coordinator in front of the garden near the main cottage

Parking: Available in the lot at the entrance of the cottage

What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable clothes and work gloves

All equipment and materials will be provided

Bad Weather Plan
If weather does not permit outdoor work, an alternate indoor project will be arranged, or a new time can be scheduled for later that day.

No Experience Needed
All skill levels are welcome. Just bring a willing heart and a readiness to serve.
