Volunteer: Red Cross Disaster Health Services Team Members for Lancaster County

Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers.

Support to the Disaster action team response, shelter operations, emergency aid stations, outreach activities, and casework and recovery planning during a disaster relief operation .

Required qualifications:

Active and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, Physician Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic , Retired RN/LPN/LVN if the state in which the license is granted allows for full scope of practice for the volunteer. Volunteers applying for in-person position assignments must be fully vaccinated. Instructions to provide information and supporting documentation of vaccination will be provided once you submit your application.

Assist with problem-solving and advocacy upon request Use RC Care to document services according to the Client Care Program Standards and Procedures and RC Care Job Tools. Services may be provided in person or virtually. Work with community recovery partners to plan for community recovery needs and long-term recovery activities.
