Volunteers will be assisting staff with sorting/organizing donations, cleaning/organizing outside storage areas, assisting in laundry and dishes, and animal enrichment activities. Other tasks may be assigned similar to these opportunities if needed. Volunteers may also be asked to assist with cleaning dog kennel and cat room areas. No direct contact with shelter animals will be permitted due to safety restrictions, though we will try to offer access to some of our adoptable animals with staff assistance prior to the end of the day. Weather permitting, tidying up of debris in dog play yards and shelter grounds may also be warranted.
Due to project tasks, volunteers should be physically capable of standing, lifting (not over 20lbs), and repetitive bending. Some projects require time spent outside in storage areas that are not heated, proper attire for colder weather is encouraged.
Bottled water and light refreshments will be available for volunteers.
Volunteers are welcome to bring along their own food/drinks if preferred.
