Lancaster County Chooses Love supports LGBTQ+ individuals and families through a combination of direct services, community-building, education, and advocacy. Our programs are designed to meet immediate needs while fostering long-term safety, dignity, and belonging across Lancaster County.
At the heart of our direct service work is our Lititz Resource Center, which brings together our low-barrier food pantry, clothing closet, and LGBTQ+ and Social Justice Lending Library. These programs address food insecurity, material needs, and access to affirming resources while centering dignity, choice, and care. In addition, our mutual aid fund provides flexible, direct financial support to help community members navigate urgent needs and unexpected barriers.
Community connection and celebration are also central to our mission. We host ongoing social groups that reduce isolation and create affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ people of all ages, as well as large-scale community events that build visibility, joy, and belonging. Signature events like our Lititz Pride Festival and Adult Homecoming offer opportunities for both celebration and healing; honoring identity, fostering connection, and reclaiming experiences that many in our community were once denied. These gatherings strengthen relationships, affirm lived experiences, and help build a resilient, connected community.
Through our Inclusion Institute, we provide education and training to organizations, schools, faith communities, nonprofits, and businesses seeking to create more inclusive, accountable, and welcoming environments. Alongside this work, we engage in advocacy to advance policies and practices that protect LGBTQ+ people and promote equity, justice, and safety throughout Lancaster County.
