Who We Are
SouthEast Lancaster Health delivers high-quality and compassionate healthcare to all--regardless of economic status. We offer well-rounded care for individuals and families, including primary care, pediatrics, dental care, chiropractic care, family planning, prenatal care, eligibility assistance, social services, mental healthcare, and health education. A Sliding Fee Program offers a discounted rate on medical and dental services for people who do not have health insurance or are under-insured. For 40 years, SouthEast Lancaster Health has worked tirelessly to provide exceptional community health; provided BY the community FOR the community.
What We Do
We were born in 1972 on Strawberry Street as a part-time, volunteer-run medical center. We grew quickly and added paid staff. By 1980, we began providing dental care in addition to medical care. Also in 1980, we moved to an office on Rockland Street, merged with Lancaster Neighborhood Health Center and SACA Health Center and renamed the newly fashioned organization SouthEast Lancaster Health Services. In 1994, the City of Lancaster donated land at 625 South Duke Street and by 1996 SouthEast had raised enough money to build a brand new facility there, including 14 medical exam rooms and 6 dental operatories. In 2011, a major renovation updated the entire South Duke Street facility and added 7 dental operatories. SouthEast added a health center in Bright Side Opportunities Center in 2006 and includes 6 exam rooms. Bright Side is a hub for refugee families new to the U.S. In 2009, SouthEast purchased a historic power plant in downtown Lancaster with financial assistance from Lancaster General Health. Project Health Equality and Access for Lancaster (HEAL) raised funds to renovate the historic site into a state-of-the-art primary care facility with 24 medical exam rooms. The North Arch Street facility opened in 2010. In 2015, SouthEast opened a 2 exam room site at Reynolds Middle School as part of its Community School, and partnered with WellSpan Philhaven to open the Center for Integrated Healthcare.
SouthEast now has 48 exam rooms serving nearly 22,000 patients every year with more than 80,000 visits. In our 13 dental operatories we will serve more than 6,000 dental patients with about 18,000 visits.
