Who We Are
The Elizabethtown Child Care Center provides a high-quality, educational, safe, and affordable early learning and school age program for children ages six weeks through fifth grade. The Elizabethtown Child Care Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a Keystone STARS Four Star program, and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Our program utilizes the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards to provide a developmentally appropriate program for all ages served. Individual classes are available for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We offer a wrap-around program for kindergarten age children with transportation available to Elizabethtown area elementary schools. We also offer a before and after school program for elementary age children and a full-day summer camp program. Tuition fees are calculated using a sliding scale that takes into account parental income and family size. Approximately 25 -30% of the children served qualify for tuition assistance.
What We Do
The Elizabethtown Child Care Center began serving preschool age children in March, 1969. We are a partner of the United Churches of Elizabethtown. Infant-toddler care was added in 1989 and school age care in 1993. We have grown from serving 3 children at its inception to over 150 children on a daily basis with a staff of approximately 35 full-time and part-time caregivers. The center became a United Way agency in 1987 and uses its United Way funds to subsidize tuition for low income families.
