Mom's House of Lancaster

Mom's House is a nondenominational faith based ministry that enables single parents to complete their education and find self sustaining employment. We understand the value of a quality education for both our parents and our children. Mom's House serves single parents (mothers and fathers) of all ages and backgrounds who want to take responsibility for their children and their future. All of our parents are enrolled in a full time education program including high school, college, or job training courses. Mom's House is a nonresidential program that works with the whole family by providing the following services: free childcare to children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years), parenting and life skills classes, tutoring, food bank, clothing and supply closet, scholarship programs, career and parenting guidance, referral services, and encouragement and support needed for parents to successfully complete their goals. In addition, we strive to prepare our children for the successful transition to the school system with a curriculum filled with fun, creative, learning activities.

Mom's House Inc. started in Johnstown, PA in 1983. There are currently eight Mom's Houses in four states; Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, and New York. Since 1991, Mom's House of Lancaster has provided support to over 300 single parent families and helped 100+ parents graduate and find meaningful employment.
