ShareaCard

The mission of ShareaCard is to send a message of encouragement to those suffering from serious illness and in need of cheer. This will happen thru the mailing of greeting cards to those in need. ShareaCard "features" one or two individuals each month who are battling a serious illness and in need of encouragement. We compose a webpage compiled with information provided from the individual or family member about their life, illness etc. Volunteers then use that information (ie: likes/hobbies/favorite items and mail them cards of cheer. Cards can be handmade or store bought. All cards come to our business address to protect the indentity of the individual. The cards are then disbursed out to their actual mailing address several times per month. Cards should be of cheery, uplifting nature since all Features are at various stages of their illness.

ShareaCard was started in 1999 as a means of sending cheery cards to the sick!  You can help in many ways. #1- Send "thinking of you" or "birthday" cards to our monthly "Features". #2- Help spread the word! This is a fabulous community service project for Scout Troops, Church Groups, 4H Clubs, anyone! #3- Contribute to shipping. Our annual Holiday Card Project generates over 13,000 cards which can get expensive. We'll enclose a note in each package giving your name and your act of kindness! #4- Donate blank cards. We have local groups and families that will sign them. Each holiday season we send Christmas cards to our monthly Features. Last year, we collected more than 13,000 cards to send out.
