The Kidney Foundation of Central PA(KFCP),founded in 1979, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving patients afflicted with kidney disease, and their families. We provide health education and screening for kidney disease, programs and services to people whose lives are impacted by kidney disease, and advocacy for living organ donation in order to reduce the wait for a life-saving kidney transplant. KFCP serves the Central PA region, including a 26-county area stretching from the New York border in the north to the Maryland border in the south, west to Altoona and east to Reading. Our nationally-recognized Patient Partner Program trains and certifies medicaly stable dialysis patients to be mentors for those who are recently diagnosed. Our Patient Emergency Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to area kidney patients & their families, reduced cost medical alert ID jewelry, seminars & free educational materials. Additionally KFCP is the primary sponsor of Camp Kydnie, a summer camp for children with kidney disease.
What We Do
KFCP was founded in 1979 by Alyce Spector of Harrisburg,PA. Originally an affiliate of National Kidney Foundation, the KFCP is an independently operating 501c(3) organization led by a board of directors consisting of medical professionals, corporate leaders, and community volunteers.
