The Long Home is a not-for-profit Personal Care Home. The Long Home is a not-for-profit Personal Care Home located in the City of Lancaster. It was opened in 1905, as the result of the will of Judge Henry G. Long, whose wishes were that a place be built for lower income women from the area of Lancaster. We currently are licensed by the PA Dept. of Public Welfare to care for 50 residents (both male and female). Our mission is still as Judge Long wished it to be; to care for persons with lower income.
What We Do
As stated above, The Long Home has been in existence for more than 100 years, as the result of the will of Judge Henry Long. Of note is that this same will is what set apart Long's Park as a "place for recreation" for Lancaster County residents.
