Meals on Wheels of Lancaster, Inc. (MOWL) is seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors and make an impact in the lives of our neighbors facing food insecurity. As a non-profit organization founded in 1967, our mission is clear: to alleviate food insecurity in our community by providing freshly prepared, nutritious meals to those in need.

For nearly six decades, Meals on Wheels of Lancaster has been delivering ready-to-eat meals to individuals in Lancaster County, growing from just 7 clients and 25 volunteers to serving over 168,000 meals to more than 730 clients in 2024. Our meals, prepared in-house by our dedicated staff and volunteers, are delivered Monday through Friday, including holidays, to clients across 20 local zip codes.
As a board member, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the direction of MOWL and ensuring that we can continue to expand our reach and fulfill our mission. We are seeking 3 new board members with experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement and are passionate about creating sustainable giving practices. Grant writing and grant-seeking experience are a plus, as MOWL is focused on building strong donor relationships and advancing our fundraising efforts in 2024 and beyond.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement
- Knowledge of grant writing and grant-seeking is a plus
- Commitment to sustainable giving and donor relationships
- Previous board experience is welcome, but not required
- A passion for community impact and food security
