Help preserve one of Lancaster's hidden treasures!
Join The Demuth Museum of Art in caring for the beautiful Demuth Garden, a historic space that inspired many of Charles Demuth's famous floral watercolor paintings. Your efforts will help keep this special garden welcoming for visitors from around the world.

Volunteer Activities
Volunteers will assist with:
- Pulling weeds
- Mowing a small back garden area
- Parking lot clean-up
Volunteer Information
- Location: The Demuth Museum, 120 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602
- Volunteers Needed: Minimum of 5 (additional volunteers welcome!)
- Age Requirement: Ages 16+ (volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
- Experience: No gardening experience needed—all skill levels are welcome!

What to Bring
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor work and bring:
- Gardening gloves
- Your favorite gardening tools (if available)
- Sunscreen and a hat
- Safety glasses, long pants, and long sleeves if using string trimmers or other landscaping equipment
The Demuth Museum will provide yard waste bags, water, and additional gardening tools.
Check-In
Volunteers will meet Karen Budusky, Operations Coordinator, in the side garden of The Demuth Museum.
Weather
Light rain will not cancel the project, so please dress for the weather. If severe weather occurs on September 16, the project will take place on Saturday, September 19.
