Project Description
Join the Lancaster Lions Club for a community-focused trail cleanup along the Conestoga Greenway Trail. Volunteers will walk the trail and help keep this outdoor space clean and welcoming by collecting litter and maintaining the beauty of the area.
This project is a great opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, support the local community, and make a positive environmental impact.
The trail is paved and approximately 1.3 miles total. Volunteers will walk half of the trail and return to the starting point while collecting trash along the way.
Volunteer Details
Number of Volunteers Needed: 1–8 volunteers
Project Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
Minimum Age: 8 years old
(Minors require adult supervision.)
Volunteer Requirements
- No special skills are needed.
- Volunteers should come ready to help, enjoy the outdoors, and support their community.
- A wheelchair user may participate and use an extension grabber for picking up trash if desired.
What to Wear and Bring
Please wear:
- Comfortable work clothes appropriate for the weather
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Long pants are recommended due to weeds and possible poison ivy
- Work gloves
- Hat/sun protection
Trash bags will be provided.
Please note: There are no public restrooms available on the trail.
Parking and Check-In Information
Volunteers should meet in the parking lot located at the middle entrance to the trail, accessed from South Broad Street, just south of Conestoga Drive.
Light refreshments will be available before the cleanup begins at 9:00 AM.
