Week of Caring 2026

September 14–19, 2026

Week of Caring is a community-wide volunteer initiative that brings together individuals, businesses, and local organizations to make a meaningful difference through service. During this special week, volunteers have the opportunity to support nonprofit organizations throughout Lancaster County by participating in hands-on projects that strengthen our community and help advance important missions.

From September 14–19, 2026, volunteers will come together to share their time, skills, and passion while helping local nonprofits complete impactful projects. Whether it’s organizing, beautifying spaces, assisting with programs, or supporting community needs, every volunteer hour helps create positive change.

Nonprofit organizations are invited to submit volunteer projects that engage community members and provide meaningful opportunities for service. Businesses, teams, families, and individuals are encouraged to participate and experience the power of giving back.

Together, we can build stronger connections, support the organizations making a difference every day, and celebrate the spirit of community through Week of Caring 2026.

Project Description

Help Arch Street Center refresh and maintain their facility through a variety of cleanup and improvement projects. Volunteers will assist with painting, yardwork, weeding, general indoor cleaning, and window cleaning to help create a welcoming and well-maintained space for the community.

Depending on the needs of the day, volunteers may work on both indoor and outdoor projects.

A lunch will be provided for volunteers at 12:30 PM.

Volunteer Details

Number of Volunteers Needed: 1–3 volunteers
Project Duration: Approximately 2–3 hours
Minimum Age: 18 years old

Volunteer Requirements

No special skills or previous experience are required.
Volunteers should be comfortable helping with cleaning, painting, and outdoor maintenance tasks.
A willingness to work as part of a team and help where needed is appreciated.

What to Wear

Please wear:

Comfortable work clothes that can get dirty
Clothing that can safely get paint on it
Closed-toe shoes are recommended

Parking and Check-In Information

Parking:
Enter 629 N. Market Street into your GPS. This will bring you directly to the Arch Street Center parking lot.

Check-In:
Volunteers should check in at the front door upon arrival.

Accessibility and Weather Plan

This project is wheelchair accessible.
In the event of bad weather, volunteers will complete indoor cleaning and painting projects.
