Project Description

Support the Lancaster County Food Hub by helping maintain and improve their facility spaces. Volunteers will assist with hands-on building maintenance projects that help keep the Food Hub operating effectively and welcoming for the community.

Project tasks may include:

  • Power washing outdoor spaces
  • Washing delivery vans inside and out
  • Assisting with painting projects
  • Supporting general facility maintenance needs

This project is a great opportunity to use practical skills while making a direct impact on an organization that serves thousands of individuals and families throughout Lancaster County.

Volunteer Details

Number of Volunteers Needed: 3–5 volunteers
Project Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Minimum Age: 18 years old

Volunteer Requirements

  • Volunteers should have experience using a power washer and/or painting experience.
  • Volunteers should be comfortable with hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • All volunteers should be prepared to work as part of a team.

What to Wear

Please wear:

  • Comfortable clothing that can get dirty
  • Closed-toe shoes

Volunteers are encouraged to wear their business logo or company shirts for project photos.

A volunteer release waiver will be completed before beginning the project.

A gravel parking lot is available at:
811 N. Prince Street

A map and additional parking information will be provided prior to the event.

Check-In:
Volunteers should meet the project coordinator at the N. Marshall Street entrance, located directly across from the gravel parking lot.

Accessibility and Weather Plan

  • This project is wheelchair accessible.
  • If weather impacts outdoor work, volunteers will transition to indoor maintenance projects.
