The Lancaster County Board of Elections is pleased to say it has received a considerable response regarding helping on Election Day. The Board is grateful to the people of Lancaster County who have expressed interest in serving their community during this important event.
We would like to inform you of an opportunity to assist in a different capacity during Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. We are seeking 150 individuals registered to vote in Lancaster County who will aid in opening absentee and mail-in ballots throughout the day. Those selected should expect to report to Freedom Hall in the Convention Center at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square in downtown Lancaster at 6:30 A.M. Duties will commence at 7:00 A.M. and continue until 8:00 P.M. or until the task is complete. You will be compensated $100.00 for the day. Attention to detail and professionalism are key. There will be a brief training session followed by the administering of oaths by the Chief Clerk of the Lancaster County Board of Elections.
Social distancing will be practiced at the individual workstations. Please note that you will be asked to wear a mask the entire time. Face masks will be provided should you need one. Hand sanitizer and latex gloves will also be available.
There will be a half hour lunch and dinner break. Boxed lunch and dinner will be provided. Beverages will also be supplied throughout the day.
Parking is reduced to $7 for the day, in Penn Square Garage, 28 South Duke Street. The entrance to the garage is located at South Duke Street.
Since you will be out of your precinct for the day, it is advisable that you apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot to vote. The deadline to apply is October 27th. Visit co.lancaster.pa.us for more information on applying.
